The class was conducted along the lines of a General Assembly after presentation of the protocols used during many of the Occupy Assemblies around the country. Students articulated major concerns that were addressed by myself, Arthur Klein and two other LA Occupiers [Patty Alfonzo & Guido Corleone, who both were arrested during the OLA eviction] one a hip hop artist, whose song at the end held the class in rapt attention.
The rap artist’s closing song inspired one of my students in the class to sing her own 99% song; she told the class she was a music major, wanted to work in the music world and here was her opportunity to show her filmmaker classmates what she could do!
Arthur Klein showed video clips ranging from Occupy LA footage to an “Occupy Love” excerpt from doc in progress (by talented docmaker, Velcrow Ripper) to the “I’m Mad as Hell” sequence from “Network,” to the trailer for his doc, “Y Yoga Movie” followed by a few minutes of a closing yoga exercise, much appreciated.
So returning will be Arthur Klein tomorrow (Thurs., 12/8) 1:30 for an hour and half
and possibly hip hop artist and LA Occupier, Guido Corleone of the Luminaries.
OccupyFreedom @ California College Invited to Speak Occupy Movement, Citizen Journalism & the 99% STREAMED LIVE!
Occupy Conversation Invited into The Classroom by California College:
Tuesday December 6th from 1:15 to 3:15pm
Citizen Journalist, Yoga / Meditation Activist, and Filmmaker Arthur Klein will be speaking tomorrow by invitation, on a well known California College Campus about his personal experience in the Occupy Movement, as a Citizen Journalist/Streamer, Conscious Film and Media Creator as well as his reflections as a blogger on the http://PursuitofHappinessYOGA.com blog.
Ustream Channel OccupyFreedom ( Arthur’s Occupy News Channel http://Ustream.tv/OccupyFreedom ) will be covering one of if not the first welcomed conversations about the Peaceful Occupy Movement.
Arthur will facilitate a combination lecture / conversation / town hall experience with a few other Occupiers. He will share his personal reflections as ONE OCCUPIER. Arthur only speaks for himself as an individual occupier, since this is a horizontal leaderless peaceful movement and although Arthur Occupied in Los Angeles, teaching Yoga, Meditation and helping with OLA-Media as just one of many brother & sister volunteers.
His personal inquiry began after 911 when he began practicing Yoga & Meditation instead of going shopping and on vacation as adviced by the leadership. He made an award winning film “Y Yoga Movie” which premiered as a invited cultural event at the Democratic National Convention in 2008… Six months after that he had a sick realization that something was rotten in the Corporatized world. He began blogging at http://pursuitofHappinessYOGA.com all the anomalies of greed, corruption and evil he was observing… When the Occupy Wall Street Movement began, Arthur for the first time in a long time realized he was not alone anymore.
Tuesday 12/6/2011 1:15-15:00 Arthur will moderate a conversation amongst Film Students and Faculty at a California College and he has gotten permission to stream this unique and perhaps premier event of the Occupy Movements conversation into the classrooms and off of the Pepper Sprayed lawns of last week.

In this article I am misquoted by one word. The only reason i point it out is that the thought makes far more sense. In any case please post links to more spiritual occupying so i can re-post and share with the OccupyUniverse.
At Pershing Square where the protesters first rallied, Arthur Klein, a yoga teacher by profession who appeared to be one of the Occupy LA organizers, invoked Gandhi and Martin Luther King and called on the marchers to exercise restraint and remain peaceful. He urged them to ‘smile at the police,’ saying the LAPD was supportive of the movement, was part of the 99% and that ‘they want this change too.’ As the crowd cheered, he added:
“We’re growing like the oceans filled with waves. We are powerful not because we are one wave but because we are waves together, and like the colors CURRENTS of the great oceans. We are going to change it all.”
After the brief meeting at Pershing Square, the crowd slowly wound its way to Los Angeles City Hall where occupiers have been camping in tents on the lawns since October 1. Along the way, they chanted ‘Banks got bailed out, we got sold out,’ and ‘From New York to LA, Occupy the USA’ and stopped from time to time to listen to brief speeches by the organizers or anyone stepping forward to relate personal stories of how bank rip-offs and corporate greed had impacted their lives.
The Spirit of the Very First Peaceful (r)Evolution is taking hold and rooting the spirit of our souls deep into the heart of mother earth… Thank you all out there for reflecting to me I am not crazy and I am not alone. Jai we will be victorious you can already feel it in the air. Please participate in this conversation with comments and posts of more of this great stuff.
